McLeod is mostly grouped with Tosh and Kasol, not only with the grass they have but also the expenses. Lets pin the big blooming bubble of fascination that McLeod is cheap as Tosh or Kasol.
(Kasol and Tosh are grass smoking hubs of Himanchal, while McLeod has aesthetic and cultural value too)
Finding Hotels :
If you are a bag packer, well you don't really care, word-of-mouth or any place under the sun is your home, but if you are looking for value for money places to stay sure do check the website and my Hotel in Mcleod blog.http://travelshares.blogspot.in/2012/10/find-perfect-place-to-sleep.html
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Food is cheap, if your are from City like Delhi and HuazKhas Village was your favorite hangout spot, well this is just a bigger and cheaper version plus your get double number of western bag packers for amuse :P
NOTE : PLEASE DO TRY GINGER LEMON HONEY TEA - I ll blog about it on a different page for sure.
Best Food @ Best Restaurants
Four Seasons -
What I had : Thukpa and Thenthuk avec Ginger Lemon honey tea.
It has Italian and other cuisine too.
Just along the street where the city center prayer wheels end, and the ally lead to Jogibara road, is a beautiful "your-eyes-cannot-miss" restaurant Four Seasons. Order Tibetan, Italian, shakes etc. Read books, it has enormous collection travel book and novel (like every other hyped cafe in McLeod).
Cost for 2 - 500 (with full stomach and we wasted food a bit, I am ashamed of it :( )
Jimmy's Italian Kitchen -
What I had : Sun dried Tomato Pizza + Ginger Lemon Honey tea
It is famous restaurant and you find it on every travel site and travelogues and blogs, though I did not find jimmy, it is usually flocked with travelers and the likes. It has enough space, do visit the terrace open restaurant on the top floor.
Cost for 2 : 300-500
This mite seem a bit expensive.
